What makes us different than other support systems?
A tenacious, lovinWe work one on one with the school social workers and guidance counselors who can identify not only those teens in high risk situations, but those who are on the edge, ready to slip through the cracks. The teens remain anonymous to all but their counselors, which is the key to maintaining their dignity.
We have more students than you would think who may opt to skip school out of embarrassment due to lack of simple items such as clean socks, underwear, or properly fitting clothing. We have teens without school supplies, shoes, or hygiene products.
No teen wants to be signaled out for being different for lack of necessities. We are here to make sure that these kids have what they need to walk into school with confidence, dignity, and the tools to thrive throughout the year.
With teens at Brookline High School coming from one of our many homeless shelters in town, or from other housing insecure situations, the need is greater than ever. Again, every teen remains anonymous as we work only through the guidance departments, who give us the exact needs of the student, without names or grades. g and energetic photographer who enjoys grabbing her camera and running out to take some photos.
